Hello, everyone! My name is Victoria, Vika for short:) I am 20 y.o
I'm from the Russian Federation, I was born and raised in a small town called Veliky Novgorod ("Veliky" means "great" in Russian, while "Novgorod" means "a new town". Though our town is really tiny, that's a nice name for it )) Our town is famous for its vast historical heritage. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world come here to see our most remarkable sights.
I am a 3rd year student in NovSU (Novgorod State Unversity). I am studying Linguistics now, and I love it. I've been learning English for 12 years already and I still have a long way to go. I am an English lover and I was and is really interested in English. More than anything, I like learning something new and extraordinary. I adore animals, though I don't have a pet. I really wish to have a cat (or two, it's even better :)) I have a big family: Mom, Dad, Little Sis (she is 16 y.o) and Grandmom, they are my greatest friends.
I have a lot of hobbies, though I tend to cool down to some of my activities from time to time and after a while I start to love it again =) I like knitting, dancing, reading and talking to interesting people! I am quite a positive person, I like to laugh, to make jokes and talk day and night! I really want to improve my language skills, because I suppose that a good translator should master his\her knowledge throughout the life.
Nevertheless, I always lacked self-confidence, and I am a really humble and shy to write first haha. I'll give my eyeteeth for getting rid of the language barrier because I have real problems with it. I hope you will help me with this, because there's no better way to get over it than talking with Native English speakers.

DeleteHi Vika! You mentioned your fear of the language barrier and the obstacles it presents. From what I an tell, you're fantastic at English, almost fluent in my opinion. If I didn't want to be an environmental science major I would definitely have gone for linguistics. I don't know any languages besides English and a little Spanish, but I hope to learn more soon!

I have some problems with Spoken English, because we here don't have enough spoken practice( That's why I do want to talk with somebody to get over my problem )) Thanks a bunch for your support!
