A Day in the Life - Andrew Colalillo

Hi everyone! My name is Andrew Colalillo and I am currently a sophomore here at SUNY Brockport, majoring in both Finance and Accounting. Prior to Brockport I lived (and still do during college breaks) in a small suburban town on the eastern end of Long Island called Shoreham. I live with both my parents and my sister Jackie who is currently a freshman at SUNY Binghamton. I come from a family of immigrants, my mother immigrated to the United States from Laos when she was nine and both of my father’s parents immigrated to the United States from Italy the year before he was born. The four of us live together in a five-bedroom house so I do not share my bedroom with anyone. Like a few of the others that posted, my family also includes three dogs. We have a thirteen-year-old Chihuahua named Spike who we rescued after Hurricane Katrina, an eleven-year-old Miniature Pinscher named Mac, and four-year-old Pomeranian named Knox that we got from a flea market in Knoxville, Tennessee.  For transportation we mostly drive to where we need to go and we each have our own car, but my dad takes the train to New York City for work every day and I do too during the summer when I intern in the city.

My home is Shoreham, New York and it forever will be no matter where I end up.

My family is made up of those who will unconditionally support me and push me to be the greatest version of myself.

Two words that best describe me to others are hard-working and driven; I am always trying to better myself and try to improve everyday even if it's just a little bit. I will always put 100% effort into anything that I do.

My typical day starts with me showering before class, going to class, eating, working out, lacrosse practice, showering again, eating, studying at the library, and then coming back and watching a game or two of various sports with my friends before going to bed. I also try to read before bed if time permits. My typical day will consist of most if not all of these activities in that order.

My favorite food is easily a grain bowl at Cava (a Mediterranean salad place in NYC and Long Island). I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new place to try if they happen to be downstate. I don’t eat candy that often but if I had to pick my favorite candy it would be a tie between Kit-Kat and Nestle Crunch.

A lot of things interest me, so naturally I have a lot of hobbies, a few of my favorite things to do include: working out, playing lacrosse, analyzing the stock market, binge watching Game of Thrones, and hanging out with friends.

I am happy to be enrolled in this course and am looking forward to working with all of you😊.

I wish to be successful and to give my family everything they deserve.

The one thing that scares me the most is not living up to my potential; not being the greatest version of myself.
