Hey everyone! My name is Tiffany Muñiz and I am 22 years old and just beginning my senior year here at SUNY Brockport majoring in Psychology and earning my minor in Women and Gender Studies. I transferred to Brockport for the Spring 2018 semester and I am originally from Queens, New York.  My family lived there until I was about five years old when we moved to Long Island. I have only been living this far north-west in New York State for about a year so far. My fiancé and I have a 4 bedroom home together about half an hour from campus that we share with our three dogs: Nala, Kona, and Tini and he and I have our own cars. I am Sicilian and Puerto Rican and have a large family that mainly lives on Long Island and in Queens, New York. But I have family in Staten Island and Puerto Rico as well. My mother's name is Maryann and she lives in a 7 bedroom family household with my Aunt, cousins, older brother Freddie, and Freddie's girlfriend Samantha. My father's name is Ferdinand and he is originally from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He currently lives in Staten Island with my step-mother Rafanzalina and my two younger half-brothers: Brandon, who is 11 years old, and Justin, who is 7. I consider home to be my house with my fiancé and dogs or being with family when we travel to visit them. My greatest values are my family and the friendships I have with the people I care for most.

I think two words that I feel describe me best are compassionate and loyal. I was raised to protect and stand by the people I love when facing adversity. I feel strongly connected to the people I care about, but to animals, also. I have transitioned back and forth between veganism, pescetarianism, and vegetarianism several times over the course of 11 years and have spent several volunteer opportunities working in animal shelters as well as with individuals suffering from psychiatric disorders and individuals with developmental disabilities, as well. When I am not at work or school, I enjoy simple things like being home or being outside in the sun. Some of my interests are horror movies, hiking, and listening to a wide variety of music.

  2. Hi Tiffany! Nice post. I am a minor in psychology. I am also very protective of those I care about and also protect animals as well. I work with people with developmental disabilities and support them wholeheartedly. LOVE LOVE horror movies.
