A Day In The Life: Casey Vattimo

Hi everyone! I am Casey Vattimo, I am a sophomore here at Brockport, majoring in Accounting. I actually transferred here last spring semester from SUNY Cortland, and am liking it a lot more here. I am from a little town about an hour away, Geneseo where my mother and brother live. My brother, Jake is 21 and he just graduated from Alfred State and has a full time job at Rochester Institute of Technology as an Athletic Communications Assistant. My mom is a teacher at a local school and has been working there since we moved here. I moved to Geneseo when I was about 6 years old, and I was actually born in Raleigh, North Carolina. We have a little house in Geneseo that my grandparents lived in and raised my mother in, so it's very special to our family. Some people say my house is huge, but there are only 3 bedrooms, which means I don't have to share a bedroom. We also an attic and basement that we don't use much. We live right in the town of Geneseo which is basically a 5 minute walk to our "Main Street" that has restaurants and bars (one that I work at). My town is very special to me, I graduated with only 70 people, so it makes it a very close-knit community where I made a lot of close friends that feel like family.

A word that describes me is compassionate and adventurous. I grew up in a community where family and friends are very important and I learned to cherish every moment that I am given with my family and friends. I care a lot about those people in my life and thats why I picked my Grandfathers alma mater for college and also its close enough that I am able to go home in any situation. I am also very adventurous, and love to travel. In the past year, I have visited Hawaii and Italy, and I take any offer to go off hiking, for a road trip, or go do something new. My aunt and grandma live on a little lake about 15 minutes away from my house and we are always out there in the summer trying to water ski, wake board, paddle board, and anything else we can come up with.

Some hobbies I have are playing sports, I was a 3 sport athlete in high school, so I like to continue playing and being involved. My favorite foods include pasta, and my favorite candy is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups mixed with vanilla ice cream.
